Motion sensors or detectors are available in either PIR (passive infrared), Microwave or Dual Technology (PIR and Microwave). Standard PIR motion sensors are typically used in residential and small business applications. MIcrowave or dual tech sensors are ideally suited for high security or in areas that might normally trigger false alarms.
Motion sensors are typically used with security alarm systems or to monitor occupancy. However there are special occupancy sensors designed for occupancy that are more sensative to detect small motion.
